The Range Lake district is made up of newer middle- and higher-income neighbourhoods, trailer courts and industrial lots on the west side of Yellowknife. It includes the Stanton Territorial Hospital, Range Lake North Elementary School, and the commercial district along Old Airport Road. Highway 3 forms its northern border, while Old Airport Road is to the east and Findlayson Drive North is to the south and west. Yellowknife, with a population of 18,700, is the Northwest Territories’ capital and by far its largest community.
