Forums/Debates
September 30, 2011So the forums have now wrapped up and it looks like all the candidates have survived. Personally, I really enjoyed them. I just wish there had been more time for some back and forth to really get into some responses. If you missed out on the forums you can watch them over the internet at the links below. There might be a lot of waiting to hear the candidates you’re curious about or for the question you wanted to hear but all in all they were interesting and informative.
A lot of people have asked about riding level debates and forums. While they didn’t happen for this year’s election, in the future it would be a really great idea. For ridings with a number of candidates, or even those with just a couple, it would really give residents a chance to compare and contrast their choices while letting the candidates have a more fluid discussion on their platform/policies. Sounds like a win for everyone, eh? Hopefully we can get some arranged for the next election (although that’s a ways off).
